Talon is a postscript Type 1 font for the Macintosh which was created utilizing the "punk" filter in Adobe Illutrator 5.0. The result is a spiked, pseudo-gothic, rhune-like alphabet which approaches the limits of legibility. It could find suitable application in fantasy publications or heavy metal posters.
This font should be installed according to the instructions in the Macintosh system manual, or by using a font utility such as Suitcase 2 or Master Juggler. Regardless of the installation method, since Talon is a Type 1 font, the files "Talon.bmp" and "Talon" need to reside in the same folder on the Macintosh.
Connoisseurs of fine typography may find Talon offensive in certain respects, and indeed this is a typeface with a tendency to "break the rules". Legibility of Talon can become difficult at any point size, and should be used with great descretion. Further modifications to Talon are welcome and might be executed should one find a way of improving readability.
